Magnetic Bulk Tape Eraser (440-0232) Operation Faxback Doc. # 37630 USING YOUR BULK ERASER CAUTION: This unit is designed for intermittent use - 1 minute on followed by 20 minutes off. Do not exceed this limitation. Erasing an entire tape takes only about 10 seconds or less. So, after erasing about six tapes, you should let the unit cool off for about 20 minutes to prevent over heating and damage. 1. Plug the power cord into a standard wall outlet. 2. Hold the eraser by its handle and pull back the on/off switch to the on position with your thumb. 3. While holding the button in the ON position, press the bottom of the eraser lightly on the cassette, tape reel, or diskette, and move the eraser in a circular motion across the entire surface of the media. (Start in the middle of tape reels.) NOTE: It takes only 7 to 10 seconds to completely erase a tape or diskette. DO NOT RELEASE THE ON/OFF BUTTON YET! 4. While still holding the button in the ON position, slowly move the eraser away from the media. When you are about 3 feet from the media, release the button. To erase a magnetic track from movie film, position the film reel with the magnetic track facing up and proceed as instructed on the previous page. This unit does not erase metal tapes. WARNING: To prevent fire or electrical shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture. CAUTION: Do no use the Magnetic Bulk Tape Eraser near delicate electronic equipment such as pace makers or electronic watches. (YO/km-01/30/1997) Privacy Policy
